The hotel is located in the very heart of Zagreb, on the beautiful J. J. Strossmayer Square, which is flanked by King Tomislav Square and Zrinski Square. Ban J. Jelacic Square (the main city square), Gradec (the centuries-old historical nucleus of Zagreb) and the Croatian National Theatre are only 10 minutes' walk away.

Palace Hotel Description

Built in the Secession style in 1891, the Palace Hotel first received guests in 1907. A new section was added in 1987 and original property was completely renovated at the same time. The medium sized reception area has a seating area on the right hand side and steps leading up to other public areas on the left, next to the reception desk. Also medium sized, the 129 guestrooms are classically appointed, with white walls, red carpets and dark wood furnishings. All are clean and well maintained, as are the en suite bathrooms. Open daily from 6.00am to 11.00pm, the Strossmayer Restaurant offers irresistible appetizers, main courses and desserts prepared by award-winning chef, Ivica Štruml. Guests can enjoy a morning coffee and newspaper in the cafe-restaurant, and later enjoy the freshly prepared treats and house specialities, such as the Palace Štrukli (a local cheese pastry).
